About Jody

Jody is a wife, mother and educator. She is married to Paul Capehart who is in his 38th year of playing with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. They have three grown children, two delightful grandchildren and three more on the way.

Jody has been involved in education for over 35 years. She has been a teacher, principal, headmaster and minister to children. She founded the Grace Academy in Dallas in 1974 and served as its head for 15 years. She served as the Director of Children's Ministries at Grace Bible Church for 6 years. She founded Prestonwood Christian Academy and served as its administrator until 1998. She began Legacy Christian Academy in Frisco in 1999 at the invitation of three families and served as Head of School for 8 years. The school quickly grew, built its own full campus complete with fine arts, athletic fields, gymnasiums, and has been a fully accredited school for K-12 since 2004. Jody resigned as Head in 2007 and is currently serving as Ambassador in order to devote more time to writing, speaking and her grandchildren.

She currently is writing a number of books, helping start a training program at Hope for the Heart in Dallas, Texas with June Hunt. Jody serves on the board of the Hope Center. Jody serves on the national board for Women in Christian Media.

Jody and Paul are active in their church which is Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco.
